Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

What a beautiful tribute to these women, Peggy, and how wonderful of you to volunteer to help them. lf

Artist's Description

For the past two years I have volunteered to work with legal refugees and immigrants, both helping to teach citizenship classes and ESL Ready to Work classes. I worked with a group of women from Somalia one year and was struck by their friendly optimism as well as their beauty. I hope this portrait, done on the computer, captures the beauty of these women and the mix of sadness and pride as they remember families and better times in Somalia. The river in the background represents the Jubba and Shebelle Rivers. Contributors of fertile farmland for several centuries, these rivers have suffered from draught yielding famine and suffering around the country.

About Peggy Kahan

Peggy Kahan

My love for photography began when, as a child I received my first Brownie camera and began documenting the animals in my life. Later I combined my interest in taking pictures with my love for travel. My husband and I have been fortunate to visit many wonderful places, always with a camera in hand. I discovered the world of digital photography and was fascinated with adding to and rearranging elements in photographs. I have taught classes on adding textures to photos to make them unique and beautiful. I have taken many courses to add to my skills and knowledge on how to enhance my images. Years ago, I painted on canvas using real brushes. I now paint on the computer, using a variety of brushes and papers and love the freedom of...
